New Braunfels is in Central Texas, within the Texas Hill Country in southeastern Comal County. According to Google Maps, the city lies about 19 miles southwest of San Marcos, 33 miles northeast of San Antonio, 48 miles southwest of Austin, 174 miles east of Houston, 171 miles northwest of Corpus Christi and 240 miles southwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
