LGI Giving

As part of our initiative to build better communities, the mission of LGI Giving is to exemplify our LGI Core Values by supporting the communities that we serve, through financial support and volunteerism, strengthening our local relationships and demonstrating loyalty. LGI Homes has identified many non-profit organizations to support through the years and our goal is to continue to make a difference throughout the communities that we build in.

To support the LGI Giving initiative, every LGI Homes employee participates in Service Impact Day. Service Impact Day is an annual event where we close all of our offices nationwide for one day and give back to the communities we build in. The day is centered around the man power that we can provide, as well as financial contributions. For LGI employees, this day is their opportunity to make a substantial impact in their community.

Here are just a few of the many causes and organizations our employees have supported.

Habitat for Humanity

  • Since the inception of LGI Giving, several communities across the nation have selected to support their local Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity helps families build and improve places to call home. Since 2016, 11 communities across the country have supported Habitat for Humanity with their time, as well as donated more than $130,000 to the cause.

  • Gary Sinise Foundation

  • In 2018, our Company gave a one-time donation of $200,000 to the Gary Sinise Foundation, who honors our nation's defenders, veterans, first responders, their families and those in need. In addition, LGI Homes pledges to donate $50 for every home that the Company closes in 2019, or approximately $350,000, to the Gary Sinise Foundation. These funds will be used to provide an array of unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities for those who willingly sacrifice each day to provide Americans freedom and security.

  • Boys & Girls Clubs

  • LGI Homes supports Boys & Girls Clubs of America across the country by providing hours of dedicated time volunteering and helping teach young people valuable life lessons. Working with these clubs, LGI employees have brought a brighter future for today's youth. We have helped children with homework, teaching projects, and built healthy relationships with young people that are eager for adult guidance.

  • Community Outreach

  • Our employees work with non-profit organizations big and small on Service Impact Day. In 2019, our Portland, Oregon employees participated in supporting a local food donation facility by assisting with stocking the warehouse, unloading trucks, arranging store shelves at opening and closing, and helping to maintain a clean and safe facility. Our employees in Houston, Phoenix, and Denver have selected to support therapeutic riding centers in various capacities, including building stables, painting fences and cleaning out tack rooms. Numerous schools, humane societies, parks and recreation facilities have benefited from the hours and financial contributions.

We're passionate about supporting our communities by lending a helping hand. From constructing fences, to organizing food, to volunteering at children's clubs, we're committed to being a positive presence in the places we build.
