That rich tradition has continued, with the city hosting a Super Bowl in 2005. Every year, Jacksonville is also the home of the Florida vs. Georgia college rivalry game since the city is considered a neutral site.
Located in northeastern Florida, Jacksonville goes by several nicknames, including “Jax,” “J-Ville,” and “The River City.” It also used to have the nickname “The Winter Film Capital of the World.” This name comes from the time when dozens of studios would create thousands of silent films in the early days of movie making. Some films are still made in the area today, though much of it has since moved west.
